Notes:
1st
Great throw Lewis CS (2-5) right to the line with 3rd baseman diving towards the sliding Lewis.Great Call.
2nd
Quentin to SS (E6) throw was there Overbay lackadaisical scoop, E3 imho.
Kotsay hit the ball tothe top of the wall, Wells saunters over and catches it.
3rd
Andruw Jones at bat is long and then he walks, good at bat different than everyone elses at bats.
5th
Lewis at bat with runners on 3rd and 2nd, Sox playing in to cut down the run.
6th
Gonzalez at bat: fouls one back and Pat Tabler says fouled, right ba--ck HERE. no picture, then the clang on the mics.
Hill is busy, makes all three out in the inning.
7th
Snider's at bat. Danks didn't execute on the first three pitches got behind then bares down, but losses him. Good at bat by Snider, looks like he's seeing the ball really well.
8th
Danks is replaced to start the 8th.
Sergio Santos pitching
With the Sox coming up to bat, Rogers goes to their hockey obsessed Sports Desk Connected, as usual, the script (do they even have writers?) says stuff like 'end of the game' and 'when the games over'. This happens every night not just tonight. I know you're not watching the baseball game but we are and it isn't "getting over" - it's reaching the climax of a story that's been building for two and a half hours. :)
Bottom of the 8th
Scott Downs in for Eveland.
9th
SS Ramirez makes a great short hop snag going far to his left, make an awkward throw away from his momentum that is perfect - saves a run, third out.
Bottom 9
Kevin Gregg pitching
Pop, way up, gets pushed by the wind towards right. Looks like Wells has it, then SS Ganzalez sees he's got to, off the heel of his glove as Aaron Hill converges on the play as well. Hill throws to 2nd where 1st baseman Overbay (I think, maybe P Kevin Gregg) is covering. Rios is safe standing up.
D Eveland W(3-1) 7.0IP, 2H, 0R, 0ER, 4BB, 3K, 0HR, 90-52, 3.82ERA
J Danks L ( 3 - 1 ) 7.0IP, 8H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 7K, 0HR, 107-70, 1.98ERA
